Tips from Emily
Mandelic should be layered onto the skin as the first serum, and can be used with other Alamano Skin Care serums. I recommend this order: Mandelic, Vitamin C, then Beta Glucan.
I usually do not recommend layering Mandelic with Vitamin A, not because there's contraindications but because that would be a lot of exfoliation! If you are using both I would do Mandelic in the AM and Vitamin A PM.
Tips for Estheticians
Mandelic is special because it is large molecularly which means it is less sensitizing than other acids, yet it is effective and shows measurable results for graceful aging and clearing acne.
If you're interested in Mandelic for clearing your client's acne, here's some information that might be helpful, and please feel free to pass this along to your clients.
Mandelic can be used day and/or night since it does not cause photosensitivity.
Some clients I put on a 1 pump 1x a day routine, other clients I put on a 2 pumps 2x a day routine, it depends on their skin.
I start clients on the Mandelic 5% unless they're already using other exfoliants and their barrier is strong, in which case I usually tell them to stop using the other stuff and switch to Mandelic 8% - and then I suggest they introduce something like this:
Week 1 use 1 pump on clean skin 3x (mon, wed, fri)
Week 2 use 1 pump 5x (mon-fri)
Week 3 use 1 pump 7x
Week 4 use 2 pumps 7x
(Then work up to whatever your recommended dose for them is)
KEEP IN MIND: Ongoing breakouts / never ending acne purge:
Using great skincare is not enough to clear skin that is truly acne-prone. Skin will not fully clear if makeup, hair and laundry products have pore clogging ingredients. If there are break outs around the mouth, switch toothpaste too. To attain clear skin, it is imperative to switch all products that come into contact with the skin. **Email me for links and recs.
